Ranchi Press Club Gets New Executive Body

Ranchi: The Ranchi Press Club on Sunday elected its new executive committee following a keenly contested general election that saw strong participation from journalist members.

Out of 843 registered voters, 781 exercised their franchise, marking a high voter turnout and reflecting active engagement within the press fraternity.

Shambhu Nath Chaudhary was elected President, while Abhishek Sinha secured the post of General Secretary. Vipin Upadhyay was elected Vice President, Kuber Singh Treasurer, and Chandan Bhattacharya Joint Secretary.

Ten members were elected to the executive committee: Pratima Kumari, Sanjay Suman, Saurabh Shukla, Vijay Gop, Ashok Gop, Chandan Verma, Rajan Bobby, Nirbhay Kumar, Santosh Kumar Sinha, and Amit Kumar.

After the completion of counting, certificates were formally handed over to the newly elected office bearers and executive members by retired judge Vishwanath Sahu.

The election process was conducted under the supervision of Vishwanath Sahu as Returning Officer, with Prabhat Singh serving as Assistant Returning Officer. Members of the election management committee—Pramod Singh, RJ Arvind, Rekha Pathak, Monu Kumar, Ashok Dwivedi, Ghulam Shahid, Ranjit Kumar, and PC Jha—played a key role in ensuring a smooth and transparent election.

The election management committee thanked all Ranchi Press Club members for their cooperation and for contributing to the successful conduct of the polls.
