
Amman: In a striking moment of warm diplomacy, Jordan’s Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II on Tuesday personally drove Prime Minister Narendra Modi to a museum in the capital, underlining the close rapport between the two countries’ leadership.
Prime Minister Modi arrived in Amman on Monday and was welcomed by Jordanian Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan before holding wide-ranging talks with King Abdullah II. The Crown Prince’s personal gesture came amid a packed schedule of high-level bilateral engagements.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Modi lauded King Abdullah’s leadership in countering terrorism, extremism and radicalisation, and acknowledged Jordan’s role in the global fight against these challenges.

The two leaders reviewed cooperation across key sectors, including trade and investment, defence and security, renewable energy, fertilizers and agriculture, digital technologies, critical minerals, infrastructure, health and pharmaceuticals, education, tourism, culture and people-to-people ties.
During the visit, India and Jordan signed several memorandums of understanding in areas such as culture, renewable energy, water management, digital public infrastructure, and a twinning arrangement between Petra and Ellora.
After delegation-level and restricted meetings, Modi and King Abdullah jointly addressed the India–Jordan Business Forum in Amman, urging business leaders from both sides to convert untapped potential into concrete economic growth, the MEA said.
