Bokaro: A thought-provoking literary discussion on the growth and advancement of literature was held at the residence of senior writer Budhinath Jha in Chira Chas under the banner of the renowned literary organisation Sahityalok.
The gathering saw participation from eminent writers of the Mithila region, including Hirendra Kumar Jha, Prof. Pritam Kumar Nishad, Adya Nath Jha ‘Navin’, Ramesh, Vachaspati Thakur ‘Sujit’, along with Bokaro-based litterateurs Budhinath Jha, Aman Kumar Jha, Amirinath Jha ‘Amar’ and Arun Pathak.
During the discussion, visiting writers lauded the role of the Mithila Sanskritik Parishad and Sahityalok in promoting literary and cultural activities in Bokaro. They observed that if similar organisations functioned actively in other cities, literary development would gain strong momentum across regions. Speakers underlined that regular literary gatherings are crucial to nurturing literary interest among the younger generation.
The participants also praised the Maithili storytelling series ‘Sagar Rati Deep Jarae’, successfully organised three times by Mithila Sanskritik Parishad, Bokaro, along with its other literary and cultural initiatives. The monthly literary meets and events organised by Sahityalok were described as commendable efforts in sustaining creative dialogue.
Special appreciation was expressed for the contributions of renowned writers Budhinath Jha, Girija Nand Jha ‘Ardhanarishwar’, and educationist Tula Nand Mishra for their role in nurturing literary talent in Bokaro.
The session was presided over by noted Mithila writer Adya Nath Jha ‘Navin’, while Aman Kumar Jha, convener of Sahityalok, conducted the proceedings. On the occasion, senior writer Budhinath Jha presented copies of his Maithili epic ‘Om Mahabharata’ to Prof. Pritam Kumar Nishad and Vachaspati Thakur ‘Sujit’, marking a memorable moment of literary exchange.
