New Delhi/Muscat: India and Oman on Tuesday took a major step towards strengthening their strategic partnership by signing a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), aimed at boosting bilateral trade, investment and sector-specific cooperation.
The visit yielded tangible outcomes as the two sides also signed six agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) covering maritime cooperation, higher education, agriculture, millet cultivation, and institutional linkages between the Oman Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
In a joint statement, the leaders expressed satisfaction over the breadth and depth of bilateral engagement, spanning trade, defence, security, technology, education and people-to-people ties. They reviewed progress under the Joint Vision Document adopted during the Sultan of Oman’s visit to India in December 2023.
