News Desk: The University of Leeds (UoL) has opened applications for its BSc Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) programme for Indian students, with admissions underway for the September 2026 intake. The three-year undergraduate degree is designed to equip students with strong computer science fundamentals alongside specialised skills in artificial intelligence.

The programme combines core computing disciplines such as algorithms, data structures and systems with advanced AI areas including machine learning, deep learning and text analytics. It aims to prepare students to address real-world challenges across sectors such as healthcare, finance, smart infrastructure and digital technologies.

Students enrolled in the course will benefit from research-led teaching delivered by academic experts in computer science, distributed systems and artificial intelligence. The curriculum emphasises both theoretical understanding and practical application, ensuring alignment with current industry needs. Opportunities for optional industrial placements after the second year and study abroad further enhance hands-on experience. With the placement year, the programme extends to four years.

Eligibility and Admission Details

Indian applicants from CBSE, CISCE and the West Bengal Board must secure an overall average of 75–80 per cent, including at least 80 per cent in Mathematics or other relevant subjects. Applicants from state boards are required to have an overall average of 80–85 per cent, including Mathematics.

The programme requires proof of English proficiency, with Class XII English scores of 70–75 per cent depending on the board, or an IELTS score of 6.5 overall.

Applications must be submitted through UCAS, with the final deadline set for 14 January 2026.

Fees and Scholarships

The annual tuition fee for the programme is £32,750 (approximately ₹34.15 lakh). Indian students are eligible for an automatic £5,000 tuition fee reduction. In addition, the International Excellence Scholarship offers up to 50 per cent fee reduction for selected international students, with 500 awards available.

Career Prospects

Graduates of the programme can pursue careers across a wide range of sectors, including technology, finance and fintech, government agencies, non-governmental organisations, media, gaming, education, retail, public authorities, and research and development. The course is positioned to support both employment and further academic research in computing and artificial intelligence.
