Jharkhand CM Inaugurates Free JEE, NEET Coaching for SC, ST, Minority Students

Ranchi: In a significant step to expand access to quality competitive exam preparation, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday inaugurated the Dishom Guru Shibu Soren Engineering (JEE) and Medical (NEET) Coaching Institute in Ranchi.

Located at Hindpiri, the institute will provide free coaching for JEE and NEET to students from Tribal, Scheduled Caste, Backward Class and Minority communities across Jharkhand. The initiative aims to curb the long-standing trend of students migrating to other states for expensive coaching.

Interacting with students, Soren said Jharkhand’s youth will now be able to prepare for premier national exams within the state itself. “Children of Jharkhand will prepare for JEE and NEET right here,” he said, calling the institute a symbol of education, culture and unity.

During the event, the Chief Minister also unveiled a statue of Shibu Soren, popularly known as Dishom Guru, and paid tribute, describing the institute as a source of inspiration for future generations.

Emphasising inclusivity, Soren suggested that students who narrowly miss selection in the initial ability test should be given a second chance, noting that many capable candidates falter due to adverse circumstances.

He also underlined the role of sports alongside academics, saying it helps inculcate discipline, confidence and leadership among students.
