BSL Quality Circle Teams Win Big at NCQC-2025

Bokaro: Bokaro Steel Plant delivered a standout performance at the 39th National Convention on Quality Concepts (NCQC-2025), reaffirming its strong culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

The four-day national convention, organised by the Quality Circle Forum of India, was held from December 19 to 22 at the G.L. Bajaj Institute of Technology and Management, Greater Noida. The event brought together 1,129 delegates from 601 organisations nationwide, featuring 2,209 quality circle case study presentations and 125 model exhibitions.

A total of 28 Quality Circle teams from BSL participated after a rigorous multi-stage selection process under the Executive Director (Operations) and Director-in-Charge Trophy competition, conducted by the Business Excellence Department. The teams were provided structured mentoring and preparatory support before presenting at the national forum.

BSL teams delivered an impressive showing, securing 14 Par Excellence Awards, 12 Excellence Awards and 2 Distinguished Awards. Additionally, three teams won the Best Model Award, underlining the plant’s strength in practical innovation and problem-solving.

Adding to the recognition, Sagarika Sahu, Senior Manager (Business Excellence), was invited by QCFI to serve as a jury member at the convention — a mark of BSL’s growing national standing in quality management. The plant’s participation and coordination at NCQC-2025 were led by Ms. Devyani Chakraborty, Senior Manager (Business Excellence).

Jury members and QCFI officials also commended Bokaro Steel Plant for its robust Quality Circle ecosystem, sustained improvement initiatives and consistent drive towards business excellence.
