Bokaro: Sarvagya Singh of Delhi Public School Bokaro has brought global acclaim to his school and Jharkhand by winning the Best Scientific Creativity Award at a worldwide visual science contest organised by UNESCO.
Sarvagya was honoured for his visual work “Whispers of Light: Tracing Photons Through Living Matter”, selected under UNESCO’s global contest “Quantum Light: A Visual Odyssey”, held as part of the International Day of Light 2025 celebrations linked to the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology. The award was presented by the Chief of Section for Basic Sciences, Research Innovation and Engineering at UNESCO.
The competition attracted entries from students, artists, educators and researchers worldwide. After expert shortlisting, the final artworks were put to a public vote, where Sarvagya’s creation emerged as the winner. His work uses visual storytelling and computer simulations to explain how light travels through living systems, making complex quantum concepts accessible to a wider audience. The artwork will now be showcased on UNESCO’s official platforms.
A consistent achiever, Sarvagya has also earned national recognition at the World Robotics Olympiad and represented Jharkhand at the National Children’s Science Congress. His AI-based project on early detection of cattle diseases was recently awarded first runner-up at an Industry–Academia Conclave at NIT Jamshedpur.
Congratulating him, DPS Bokaro Principal Dr A. S. Gangwar said Sarvagya’s success reflects focused effort and a strong scientific temperament nurtured through innovation, adding that such achievements inspire students to set new milestones.
