Ranchi: Ringing in the New Year with a welfare boost, the Jharkhand government has credited honorarium payments under the Chief Minister’s Maiyan Samman Yojana to nearly four lakh women beneficiaries in Ranchi district.
Under the scheme, a total of ₹97.89 crore has been transferred to 3,91,578 women at ₹2,500 each through Aadhaar-linked Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), covering the honorarium for December. The payout is being seen as a New Year assurance of financial support and economic empowerment for women across the district.
District officials said the initiative reflects the state’s focus on timely and transparent delivery of welfare benefits. Ranchi Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Manjunath Bhajantri said the New Year symbolises renewed hope and positive change, adding that the administration remains committed to ensuring government schemes reach the last mile.
He noted that the Maiyan Samman Yojana is a significant step towards strengthening women’s financial independence and self-reliance. “We are confident this initiative will contribute to greater security, dignity and empowerment for women and their families in the coming year,” he said.
