Jamshedpur Gears Up for 75th Steel City Golf Tournament with 250 Golfers

Jamshedpur: All eyes are on Jamshedpur as the city prepares to host the 75th edition of the Steel City Golf Tournament from January 16 to 18, 2026, marking a platinum milestone for one of India’s oldest and most prestigious golfing events.

Founded in 1951 and nurtured under the patronage of Tata Steel, the tournament will be jointly held across the lush Beldih Golf Course and Golmuri Golf Course, both renowned for their scenic 18-hole layouts.

Over 250 golfers from cities such as Patna, Bhubaneswar, Paradip, Ranchi, Delhi, and host city Jamshedpur are expected to compete, alongside strong representation from the local golfing fraternity. The tournament has already generated significant excitement among top golfers, corporate leaders, sports lovers, and invited dignitaries from across the country.

Senior office-bearers including Golf Captain D. B. Sundar Ramam, Vice President (Corporate Services), Tata Steel Limited, Golf Secretary Neeraj Kumar Sinha, Chief (Safety), Tata Steel Limited, and Golf CEO Alan Singh are spearheading efforts to ensure a memorable and grand edition.

Apart from high-quality competitive golf and an array of prizes, the event promises a vibrant social calendar. Golfers and guests will enjoy a barbeque dinner on January 16, gala lunch and dinner on January 17, and lunch on January 18, complemented by live music and band performances.

To commemorate 75 years of legacy, the 2026 edition will also feature special heritage showcases, community engagement programmes, gala evenings, and matches honouring past champions and legendary contributors. Organisers say the tournament will celebrate not just sporting excellence but also the rich community spirit and sporting culture that define Jamshedpur.
