Sunny Deol’s Border 2 Enters ₹100 Crore Club in Opening Weekend

Mumbai: Sunny Deol’s much-anticipated war epic Border 2 has made a thunderous entry at the box office, racing past the ₹100-crore mark within just three days of its release and emerging as one of the biggest openers of 2026.

The film, which hit theatres on January 23, has witnessed a spectacular upward trend. It opened with around ₹30 crore on Day 1, climbed to ₹36.5 crore on Day 2, and exploded with an estimated ₹54.5 crore on its first Sunday. With this, Border 2 has amassed nearly ₹121 crore in its opening weekend alone.

Trade analysts expect collections to surge further on Day 4, which coincides with the Republic Day holiday, giving the film another major boost at the ticket counters.

Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 is a spiritual successor to J.P. Dutta’s 1997 cult classic Border. While the original focused on a single battle, the new film expands its canvas across multiple fronts of the 1971 India–Pakistan war, showcasing the coordinated might of the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy.

The film boasts a powerful ensemble cast featuring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty. Blending patriotism, emotion, and high-octane action, Border 2 has struck a strong chord with audiences across the country.

With packed theatres, strong word of mouth, and a holiday advantage, the film is poised to continue its dream run at the box office in the days ahead.
