
DVC CTPS Marks Republic Day with Patriotic Fervour
Bokaro: The Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) has announced a major power and infrastructure boost for Chandrapura, with plans to set up two 1,600 MW supercritical thermal power units and a 10 MW solar power plant in the region.
The announcement was made during the 76th Republic Day celebrations at the DVC Chandrapura Thermal Power Station, which were marked with patriotic fervour and grand cultural displays.
Chandrapura to Get 3,210 MW Power Boost with DVC Thermal and Solar Projects
The event was held at the football ground, where Senior General Manager and Project Head Ramkumar Anubhav hoisted the national flag and paid homage to the tricolour. Addressing employees, local residents and students, Anubhav said DVC is firmly committed to nation-building and social development through clean, efficient and sustainable power generation.
“DVC is continuously striving for the upliftment of society and the country. These upcoming power projects will play a key role in the overall development of Chandrapura and nearby areas,” he said.
Major Power Expansion on the Cards
Anubhav revealed that Chandrapura will soon witness the establishment of:

Two 1,600 MW supercritical thermal power plants

One 10 MW solar power plant
He said the projects would significantly strengthen the region’s power infrastructure while generating new employment opportunities. Stressing the importance of safety and teamwork, he urged employees and local stakeholders to work collectively for the successful execution of the projects.
Top Performer in Power Generation
Highlighting the performance of the Chandrapura Thermal Power Station, Anubhav said the plant has secured the sixth position nationally in power generation.
“Our next goal is to reach number one. With dedication and discipline, we can achieve it,” he added.
Strong Focus on Environment and Society
Reiterating DVC’s commitment to sustainability, Anubhav said:

Dry ash from the plant is being directly supplied to cement factories and brick kilns, promoting recycling and creating large-scale employment.

Three sewage treatment plants, built at a cost of several crores, have been commissioned to ensure treated water is released into nearby rivers.
He also noted that DVC is actively working in health, education, skill development and training for the benefit of surrounding communities.
Grand Cultural Display
The celebration featured colourful tableaux by school students, cultural performances, a CISF weapons display, and a spectacular fire service tricolour salute using water fountains. All participating groups were felicitated on the occasion.
The event concluded with the distribution of fruit packets to patients at the DVC hospital, reflecting the organisation’s continued commitment to social service.
