
Tata’s Big Push in Jharkhand: New Technology, Knowledge Industries & Jobs on Agenda
Ranchi: The Tata Group has unveiled fresh investment plans for Jharkhand, with a sharp focus on advanced technology, knowledge-based industries, CSR expansion and youth skill development. The announcement was made at the Chief Minister’s residential office in the presence of Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran.
Tech Upgrade & Industrial Expansion
Chandrasekaran said Tata companies operating in the state, including Tata Steel and Tata Motors, will transition towards more technology-driven production systems. Plans include modernising industrial units, adopting cleaner and faster manufacturing processes, and exploring advanced projects such as hydrogen-based vehicle manufacturing—moves aimed at reinforcing Jharkhand’s status as a key industrial hub.
Knowledge Industries & Joint Roadmap
In alignment with the state’s industrial vision, a joint task force of government officials and Tata representatives will prepare a roadmap to establish knowledge-based industries in Jharkhand. The Group assured full cooperation for long-term economic growth.
CSR Boost & Youth Skilling
The conglomerate will also scale up its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, increasing funding and expanding outreach. Special emphasis will be placed on skill development programmes to equip youth with industry-relevant training and enhance employment prospects.
‘Investment-Friendly’ Climate
Praising the state’s leadership, Chandrasekaran said Jharkhand is emerging as an investment-friendly destination with a clear industrial roadmap. Chief Minister Hemant Soren highlighted the Tata Group’s historic ties with the state, expressing confidence that the renewed partnership will accelerate industrial growth, innovation and job creation.
