Bokaro: Delhi Public School (DPS), Bokaro has achieved another remarkable milestone by receiving the prestigious 7-Star Rating Award as a leading Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) school in the country. The recognition was conferred by the Centre for Educational Development (CED) Foundation, affiliated with NITI Aayog and the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, at a ceremony held in New Delhi.
The honour acknowledges the school’s effective implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and its consistent efforts to integrate sustainability into its educational ecosystem. DPS Bokaro has developed a strong model of environmental awareness by encouraging responsible use of natural resources, promoting energy-efficient practices, and fostering inclusivity among students.
Through various initiatives, the institution has actively sensitised students to environmental conservation while strengthening academic excellence. These efforts aim to nurture young learners as responsible and environmentally conscious citizens.
The school had earlier received the SDG School Award last year, recognising its sustained commitment to eco-friendly initiatives and sustainable practices.
Adding to the institution’s recent achievements, Principal Dr. A. S. Gangwar was also honoured with the Best Principal Award by the National EduTrust of India, affiliated with the Ministry of MSME. The award acknowledges his leadership in promoting environmental stewardship, innovative learning approaches and ecological awareness among students.
Expressing his gratitude, Dr. Gangwar congratulated the entire DPS Bokaro community and said the 7-Star Rating reflects the collective vision and dedication of students, teachers, parents and staff. He emphasised that the recognition strengthens the school’s resolve to continue nurturing environmentally responsible future citizens.
