
Bokaro: In a significant step towards strengthening grassroots infrastructure, Nand Ghar has signed an MoU with the Women & Child Development (WCD) Department to establish 150 modern, tech-enabled anganwadi centres in Koderma district. The agreement was formalised in the presence of Union WCD Minister Annapurna Devi and Deputy Commissioner Rituraj (IAS).
The move expands Nand Ghar’s footprint in Jharkhand—where it already operates 150 centres in Bokaro—marking a significant rural outreach push into Koderma.
What the Project Will Deliver
The upcoming Nand Ghars will function as tech-enabled, upgraded anganwadi centres, offering:
- Nutritious meals for children
- Early childhood education
- Basic healthcare services
- Skill-based livelihood support for women
CSR Boost from ESL Steel
Vedanta Group company ESL Steel Limited will power the initiative through its CSR interventions, reinforcing last-mile delivery of essential services in rural pockets.

Koderma DC Rituraj termed the partnership a “critical step” in strengthening grassroots service delivery, highlighting its impact on nutrition, education, healthcare, and women-centric livelihoods.
Nand Ghar CEO Shashi Arora said the collaboration will “bring essential services closer to underserved communities,” while ESL Steel’s Deputy CEO Ravish Sharma reiterated the company’s commitment to inclusive rural transformation through focused CSR efforts.
