Arrest After Extensive Digital Tracking
The accused, identified as Srinivas Louis, was traced and arrested following a detailed cyber investigation led by Delhi Police with support from local authorities in Karnataka. Officials tracked a complex digital trail that eventually led them to his residence in Mysuru.

Panic Across States, Institutions Disrupted
The threats were sent to a wide range of locations, including:
- Educational institutions
- Courts and judicial complexes
- Government offices
Each alert triggered high-level security checks, evacuations, and bomb disposal operations. Though all threats turned out to be fake, they caused significant disruption and fear across several states.
Over 1,100 Threat Messages Sent
During questioning, the accused is believed to have admitted to sending more than 1,100 such messages over time, making it one of the largest hoax bomb threat cases in the country.
Police sources suggest he acted alone, though investigations are ongoing to rule out any wider network or accomplices.
Motive Still Under Investigation
Preliminary findings indicate the accused was unemployed and may have been dealing with personal or psychological stress. However, officials have not confirmed a clear motive yet.
Authorities are now conducting detailed forensic and psychological assessments to understand what drove the repeated threats.
Devices Seized, Probe Continues
Police have seized key evidence, including:
- A laptop allegedly used to send emails
- SIM cards and digital data
The accused is being questioned further, and multiple cases registered in different states are being consolidated as part of the investigation.
Rising Concern Over Hoax Threats
The incident has once again highlighted the growing misuse of digital platforms for spreading fear. Even fake threats demand real responses—mobilising police forces, disrupting daily life, and stretching security resources.
Bottom Line
What started as a series of anonymous emails turned into a nationwide security challenge.
With over 1,100 hoax threats traced back to one individual, the case underscores the urgent need for stronger cyber surveillance and stricter action against those misusing technology to create panic.
