Calling it a “major breakthrough,” Yadav said the joint teams have not only arrested five suspects but also identified the two primary attackers behind the incident. Security agencies have recovered a grenade along with additional explosive materials, while efforts continue to nab the remaining accused.
Investigators revealed that the terror module functioned through multiple layers of operatives and sub-networks, indicating a well-coordinated plan backed by foreign handlers.
Police officials stated that the operation has successfully foiled a larger conspiracy aimed at disturbing peace and communal harmony in the region.
The blast occurred on April 1 around 5 pm outside the BJP office in Sector 37, Chandigarh. No casualties were reported, but the incident triggered heightened security across the city.
