Bokaro: With misinformation increasingly eroding public trust in media, the Jharkhand Union of Journalists (JUJ) is set to hold a crucial district-level conference in Bokaro on April 15 to confront the growing fake news crisis.
Bringing journalists and media professionals onto one platform, the conference will spotlight how the unchecked spread of misinformation—especially across social media—is reshaping public perception of journalism. Krishna Choudhary, President of the Union, said the meet will focus on “finding practical ways to defend the credibility of the press in a rapidly evolving digital ecosystem.”
The conference will begin at 11:00 AM at Buddha Vihar Banquet Hall, Sector 4, Bokaro Steel City. Invitations have been sent across the district, with organisers expecting strong participation for what is being seen as a timely and much-needed intervention.
JUJ leaders underlined that the event goes beyond routine deliberations, aiming instead to build a united front within the media fraternity. The platform will encourage collaboration, ethical accountability, and collective strategies to counter misinformation.
As fake news continues to blur the lines between fact and fiction, the Bokaro conference is shaping up to be a key moment for journalists in Jharkhand to reflect, regroup, and respond with renewed professional resolve.
