‘Chun chun ke…’: Amit Shah vows revenge under PM Modi

New Delhi: Delivering a firm and pointed warning in the aftermath of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, Union Home Minister Amit Shah vowed on Thursday that India will avenge the killings “one by one” under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In his first public response since the massacre that claimed 26 civilian lives, Shah said, “If anyone believes a cowardly terror strike marks their victory, let them remember — this is Narendra Modi’s India. Revenge will be taken, chun chun ke (one by one).”

Shah assured the nation that the Central Government is committed to completely uprooting terrorism from Indian soil. “It is our unwavering resolve to eliminate terrorism from every inch of this country,” he declared.

He emphasized the global backing India has received, stating, “Not just 140 crore Indians, but the entire world stands with us in this fight against terrorism.” The Home Minister noted a rising international consensus supporting India’s counter-terror stance, reinforcing the country’s legitimacy in pursuing a strong response.

“The government will not rest until every terrorist involved is brought to justice,” Shah stressed.

The remarks follow national outrage over the brutal Pahalgam attack, which has been attributed to The Resistance Front (TRF), a Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba proxy. The Indian government has since granted full operational autonomy to the armed forces to determine the nature, scope, and timing of the retaliatory response.
