Espionage Shocker: Navy Clerk Arrested in Delhi for Spying for Pakistan’s ISI, Paid via Crypto

New Delhi : In a major security breach, a clerk posted at the Navy Headquarters in Delhi has been arrested on charges of espionage for Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI. The accused, Vishal Yadav, a native of Haryana, was reportedly passing sensitive military information to a Pakistani handler, posing as a woman named Priya Sharma, in exchange for money.

According to officials, Yadav had been under surveillance for some time by the Rajasthan Police’s CID Intelligence Wing, which had been closely monitoring ISI-linked espionage activities. The breakthrough came when investigators found that Yadav was in frequent contact with the Pakistani handler through social media platforms.

Vishnukant Gupta, a senior Rajasthan Police official, confirmed that Yadav was leaking classified Navy and defense information, including during the critical period of Operation Sindoor. Digital forensics of his mobile phone revealed shocking volumes of sensitive data shared with the foreign agency.

Authorities also revealed a possible motive — Yadav was reportedly addicted to online gaming and had accumulated debts. In need of money, he accepted payments both through cryptocurrency channels and directly into his personal bank accounts.

Yadav is currently undergoing a multi-agency interrogation at the Central Interrogation Center in Jaipur. Intelligence agencies are now probing the extent of the data leak and whether more individuals are involved in the espionage network.

The arrest has triggered serious concerns over insider threats within India’s strategic military institutions.
