Bokaro: The two-day 3rd Bokaro District Yogasana Sports Championship concluded on a high note at Delhi Public School (DPS), Bokaro, with over 350 participants from various schools across the district showcasing their yogic skills. The event was jointly organized by DPS Bokaro and the Bokaro District Yogasana Sports Association (BDYSA).
The closing ceremony, held last evening, was graced by Maloy Kumar Dey, Joint Secretary of the Yogasana Sport Association, Jharkhand, as the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries in attendance included Prashant Kumar Singh, Treasurer, and Chandu Kumar, General Secretary of the state association. Dr. A. S. Gangwar, Principal of DPS Bokaro and President of BDYSA, along with BDYSA officials Anjani Bhushan, Rajan Kumar Singh, and Brajesh Kumar Singh, were also present.
Team DPS Bokaro emerged as the overall champion for the third consecutive year, followed by GGPS, Chas as the first runners-up and GGPS, Sector V in third place. The top performers were awarded medals, trophies, and certificates.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Maloy Kumar Dey lauded the participants’ efforts and encouraged them to gear up for the upcoming State-Level Championship. He shared that Yogasana is set to be introduced in the Olympics, and urged the youth to embrace yoga early for lifelong physical and mental wellness.
Dr. Gangwar congratulated all participants and highlighted how the growing popularity of yoga worldwide reflects a global shift toward holistic well-being. He emphasized the need to continue promoting India’s ancient yogic tradition among the younger generation.
The event not only celebrated competitive excellence but also reinforced the cultural and spiritual essence of yoga as a way of life.
