10,000 Postcards to PM
Bokaro: Support is pouring in for the proposed expansion of Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) and the upgradation of Bokaro General Hospital (BGH) into a super-specialty facility, with several social and civic organizations rallying behind the initiative spearheaded by social activist Kumar Amit.
In a bold and symbolic move, ex-servicemen launched a campaign to send 10,000 postcards to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging swift action on the long-pending demands. The campaign has drawn wide support from groups like the Jharkhand Home Guard Welfare Association, All India Ex-Servicemen Service Council, Sahodaya School Complex, Ayyappa Seva Sangam, and Bokaro Mazdoor Samaj.
Kumar Amit met several key figures including Rakesh Mishra, Dineshwar Singh, Suraj Sharma, P. Raja Gopal, Mohan Nair, Rajesh Mahato, and Amarendra Dwivedi, thanking them for their active support. He also invited them to a public seminar on August 3, aimed at building broader consensus and public backing for the expansion.
“This project is crucial for Bokaro’s future and Jharkhand’s development,” said Amit, adding that efforts to engage every section of society will continue in the coming days.
Campaign members Atul Singh, Yogendra Kumar, Shashi Singh, Sunil Mahato, Chandraprakash, and Nivaran Mahato were also present during the outreach. The growing momentum signals a united Bokaro rallying behind industrial growth and improved healthcare infrastructure.
