Mithila Sanskritik Parishad Pays Tribute to Vidyapati, Hails Revival of Janaki Janmabhoomi

Bokaro: The Mithila Sanskritik Parishad, a prominent organisation of Maithili speakers in Bokaro, on Tuesday celebrated the first anniversary of the installation of the statue of Mahakavi Vidyapati at the Mithila Academy Public School in Sector-4E.

Members and dignitaries offered floral tributes to Baba Vidyapati, honouring the legendary poet-philosopher who is revered as an icon of Maithili culture and Indian Sanatan traditions.

In a spirited discussion, speakers described Vidyapati as a “divine figure” whose literary and spiritual contributions continue to inspire generations. They also lauded the Narendra Modi government’s efforts to preserve and strengthen Sanatan Dharma, highlighting the Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s recent foundation laying of the grand Janaki temple in Sitamarhi, Bihar. The temple, to be constructed on 67 acres at a cost of ₹882.87 crore, is envisioned on the lines of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

Speakers emphasised that just as the long-cherished dream of a Ram Mandir has become reality, the Sitamarhi temple would be a historic milestone for the pride of the Mithila region. They also praised Sitamarhi MP Devesh Chandra Thakur for his role in reviving Janaki Janmabhoomi.

The event saw participation from leading members of the Mithila Cultural Council, including President Jai Prakash Chaudhary, General Secretary Neeraj Chaudhary, Mithila Academy Public School Secretary Dilip Kumar Jha, Women’s Committee President Poonam Mishra, along with several eminent community figures.

The programme concluded with a collective pledge to carry forward the cultural and spiritual legacy of Mithila while supporting national efforts to uphold India’s civilisational heritage.
