Special prayers were held across Sri Lanka to mark the 75th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reflecting deep respect across faiths and communities.

The Bohra community in Colombo organized prayers at their Hussaini Mosque, seeking blessings for the Prime Minister’s health and leadership.

At the Mahabodhi Society in Colombo, monks invoked blessings from the Dhamma.

In the Eastern Province, prayers were held at the historic Thirukoneswaram Temple in Trincomalee, as well as at the multi-religious sacred site of Kataragama.

Various other locations across the island also held prayers.
These observances not only demonstrated respect for PM Modi but also highlighted the enduring cultural and diplomatic ties between India and Sri Lanka. Earlier this year, PM Modi was honored with the Sri Lanka Mitra Vibhushana award for his efforts to deepen regional connectivity and cultural exchange.

Former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak extended his wishes, calling Modi a “good friend” of both himself and Britain.
Sunak stated:
