Prime Minister Narendra Modi received an outpouring of warm wishes from leaders and communities across India and around the world on his 75th birthday, celebrated on Wednesday, 17 September. The day was marked by heartfelt greetings and special prayers reflecting global goodwill.

Special Prayers Across Sri Lanka in Honor of PM Modi’s 75th Birthday

Special prayers were held across Sri Lanka to mark the 75th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reflecting deep respect across faiths and communities.

  • The Bohra community in Colombo organized prayers at their Hussaini Mosque, seeking blessings for the Prime Minister’s health and leadership.

  • At the Mahabodhi Society in Colombo, monks invoked blessings from the Dhamma.

  • In the Eastern Province, prayers were held at the historic Thirukoneswaram Temple in Trincomalee, as well as at the multi-religious sacred site of Kataragama.

  • Various other locations across the island also held prayers.

These observances not only demonstrated respect for PM Modi but also highlighted the enduring cultural and diplomatic ties between India and Sri Lanka. Earlier this year, PM Modi was honored with the Sri Lanka Mitra Vibhushana award for his efforts to deepen regional connectivity and cultural exchange.

US President Donald Trump Extends Warm Birthday Greetings

Among the first to convey birthday greetings was former US President Donald Trump, who called Prime Minister Modi on the eve of his birthday.
Trump praised Modi for doing “a tremendous job” and thanked him for supporting efforts related to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

In response, Modi expressed gratitude, calling Trump “my friend,” and reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening India-US ties.
On X, PM Modi posted:

“Thank you, my friend, President Trump, for your phone call and warm greetings on my 75th birthday. Like you, I am also fully committed to taking the India-US Comprehensive and Global Partnership to new heights. We support your initiatives towards a peaceful resolution of the Ukraine conflict.”

Rishi Sunak Hails Modi as “Good Friend” of Britain

Former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak extended his wishes, calling Modi a “good friend” of both himself and Britain.
Sunak stated:

“It is a great pleasure to wish Prime Minister Modi a happy 75th birthday. In these uncertain times, we all need good friends, and Modi Ji has always been a good friend to me and to Britain. I’m delighted to see UK-India ties going from strength to strength. I fondly remember visiting India as Prime Minister for the G20 Summit in 2023 with Akshata. He said:

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Praises Modi

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sent a special video message, wishing his “good friend” Modi a happy birthday.
Netanyahu said:

Russian Ambassador Denis Alipov Sends Greetings

Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov extended warm wishes to PM Modi via a post in Hindi on X:

Denmark’s PM Mette Frederiksen Calls PM Modi

PM Modi had a telephonic conversation with Danish Prime Minister H.E. Ms. Mette Frederiksen.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the India-Denmark Green Strategic Partnership in sectors such as trade, investment, energy, innovation, water management, food processing, and sustainable development.

Modi also extended his best wishes for Denmark’s ongoing Presidency of the EU Council and non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council.
The leaders discussed global issues, with Modi reiterating India’s support for a peaceful resolution of the Ukraine conflict.

Prime Minister Frederiksen emphasized Denmark’s strong support for a mutually beneficial India-EU Free Trade Agreement and the upcoming AI Impact Summit hosted by India in 2026.
