Jathedar Garhgaj Meets Sikh Preacher Bhai Harvinder Singh Jamshedpuri in Jamshedpur
Jamshedpur: In a major move to reinforce Sikh discipline and unity, Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Garhgaj of Sri Akal Takht Sahib arrived in Jamshedpur and held a key meeting with noted Sikh preacher Bhai Harvinder Singh Jamshedpuri. The meeting centered on restoring the sanctity of Rahat Maryada—the Sikh code of conduct—across Gurdwaras in the Kolhan region.
Bhai Jamshedpuri highlighted that Rahat Maryada is not merely a set of rules but the living spirit of Sikh tradition and Guru’s path. “It is the sacred duty of every Sikh to uphold Maryada. Without it, unity, discipline, and the spirit of selfless service lose meaning,” he stressed.
Raising concern over irregular practices in several local Gurdwaras, Bhai Jamshedpuri urged the Akal Takht to issue firm directives ensuring uniform observance of Maryada to prevent internal rifts among devotees.
Responding to the appeal, Jathedar Garhgaj assured decisive steps to address the issue. “The Rahat Maryada represents both discipline and the dignity of the Panth. We will revive awareness through stories and teachings so that the coming generations remain deeply rooted in Sikh tradition,” he said.
He also called upon the Sikh community in Kolhan to set aside differences and unite under the guidance of the Guru’s Maryada.
Observers hailed Bhai Jamshedpuri’s initiative as a landmark effort aimed at reviving spiritual discipline, preserving harmony, and upholding the purity of Sikh tradition in the region.
