‘Corruption Hurts the Nation’

Bokaro: As part of Vigilance Awareness Week 2025, the Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) Chandrapura Thermal Power Station (CTPS) organized a vibrant street play and awareness drive to promote integrity and honesty in public life.

Addressing the gathering as chief guest, Senior General Manager and Project Head, Vijaya Nand Sharma, called corruption the biggest obstacle to the progress of society and the nation. He said, “Those who indulge in corruption may gain temporarily, but society and the country suffer in the long run—and eventually, the consequences catch up with them.” He urged citizens to perform their duties with honesty and dedication, stressing that integrity benefits individuals, families, and the nation alike.

Students of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Chandrapura, staged a street play on corruption, depicting real-life scenarios such as a railway ticket examiner accepting bribes and a railway officer halting a train for personal gain, leading to tragic results. The performance ended with the characters pledging to live honestly, drawing loud applause from the audience and officials.

Senior DVC officials including Abhijit Ghosh, Vinod Kumar Rai, R.R. Ojha, Dr. P.K. Ghosh, and others attended the event.

As part of the ongoing Vigilance Awareness Week, the DVC vigilance department also launched a mobile awareness campaign across Chandrapura and nearby areas, spreading the message that vigilance is a shared responsibility and a key pillar of India’s march toward development.
