Kanpur: In a startling revelation linked to the Red Fort blast that killed nine people in Delhi, investigators have zeroed in on Dr. Shaheen, a former professor at GSVM Medical College, Kanpur, who is now suspected of having terror links.
According to intelligence sources, Shaheen — once a respected pharmacology professor — vanished mysteriously in 2013, only to re-emerge years later as part of a terror network now under national scrutiny.

Shaheen’s journey from medical academia to militancy reads like a dark thriller. She joined Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Medical College (GSVM) in 2006 as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacology and rose to become a professor by 2013. That same year, she suddenly disappeared without notice, ignoring repeated letters and calls from college authorities.
Her personal life, too, was turbulent. Shaheen, who hailed from Lalbagh, Lucknow, and earned her MBBS from Prayagraj, had a love marriage with ophthalmologist Dr. Zafar Saeed of Kanpur’s KPM Hospital. The relationship soured quickly, leading to divorce, after which she allegedly became close to a terrorist named Dr. Muzammil.
Sources reveal she was briefly transferred to Kannauj Medical College in 2009 but returned to Kanpur in 2010. Following her unexplained disappearance in 2013, the Uttar Pradesh government dismissed her from service in 2021.
Now, amid the ongoing Delhi blast probe, agencies are reconstructing Shaheen’s missing years, examining her connections and movements after leaving Kanpur. Officials say her radical transformation from a medical scholar to a suspected terror operative could unveil deeper networks operating within India.
Investigators expect “shocking new details” to surface as they piece together the mystery of Dr. Shaheen — the doctor who turned to terror.
