SAIL Posts 14% Sales Growth in April–November Period as Retail Segment Shines

New Delhi: State-owned steel major Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has reported a strong sales performance during April–November 2025, recording double-digit growth despite global headwinds and market volatility.

In November 2025 alone, SAIL’s sales rose sharply by 27 per cent compared to the same month last year. The retail segment led the surge, clocking a striking 69 per cent jump to 0.14 million tonnes (MT), up from 0.084 MT in November 2024. The growth was driven by robust demand across product categories and delivery channels, including domestic saleable steel, road dispatches and warehouse-to-door services. During the month, SAIL also emerged as the country’s largest seller of TMT bars.

Sustaining this momentum, the company posted cumulative sales of 12.7 MT during the April–November 2025 period, marking a 14 per cent increase over 11.1 MT recorded in the corresponding period last year.

Company officials attributed the strong performance to an effective sales strategy and sustained on-ground efforts by its marketing teams. The gains were achieved despite pressure from global steel prices, demand fluctuations and uncertainties arising from international trade policies and geopolitical tensions.

Retail channel sales for April–November 2025 stood at 0.97 MT, reflecting a 13 per cent rise from 0.86 MT a year earlier. SAIL said the steady growth in retail volumes was supported by nationwide brand promotion initiatives and deeper market penetration.

The results underline SAIL’s customer-focused approach, market leadership and operational resilience in a challenging global environment, positioning the company for sustained growth across key segments in the months ahead.
