Priya Ranjan Steps In as Director In-Charge, Set to Lead Bokaro Steel Plant

 

Bokaro: In a significant leadership move for India’s public sector steel giant, Priya Ranjan on Tuesday assumed charge as Director In-Charge (DI) of Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL), bringing with him three decades of deep operational experience and a reputation for decisive, results-driven management.

The appointment follows the recommendation of the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) on August 22, 2025. Until now, Ranjan was serving as Executive Director (Operations) at Bokaro Steel Plant, a role in which he earned wide recognition for operational discipline and results-driven leadership.

A seasoned technocrat with over three decades of experience at Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), Ranjan holds a B.Tech in Metallurgy along with a postgraduate diploma in Management. He began his career in 1994 as a Management Trainee (Technical) at the Steel Melting Shop of IISCO Steel Plant, where he served for nearly 23 years in key operational roles.

In October 2017, he moved to SAIL’s Corporate Office in New Delhi, contributing across strategic assignments in the Chairman’s Secretariat. He was elevated to Executive Director on November 15, 2024, and later posted to Bokaro as Executive Director (Operations) in August 2025.

With his assumption of charge as Director In-Charge, Ranjan will steer Bokaro Steel Plant’s operations, expansion initiatives and long-term strategy. Widely regarded as a balanced blend of technical depth and administrative vision, his leadership is expected to drive the plant into its next phase of growth and efficiency.
