
Jamshedpur: The steel city is set to host a major international gathering of metallurgical experts as the Indian Institute of Metals (IIM), Jamshedpur Chapter, in collaboration with Tata Steel Limited and CSIR – National Metallurgical Laboratory, organises the International Conference on “Next Generation Galvanized and Color Coatings (GalvaNext-2026)” on January 8–9, 2026.
The two-day conference will be held at Hotel Vivanta, Golmuri, positioning Jamshedpur as a hub of global dialogue on future-ready steel technologies. The event aims to create a vibrant platform for in-depth discussions, collaboration, and innovation in the field of hot-dip galvanizing and color-coated steel, with a strong emphasis on sustainability.
According to the organisers, the conference will focus on next-generation galvanized products, advanced coating processes, emerging technologies, and pressing industry challenges. Sustainability, efficiency, and long-term industrial resilience will remain at the core of all deliberations.
More than 300 delegates and speakers from over 70 organisations, representing India and several countries abroad, are expected to participate. The programme features over 70 technical papers, including plenary sessions and keynote addresses, spread across 10 focused technical sessions. In addition, two high-level panel discussions will explore technological innovation, strategic direction, operational challenges, and pathways for sustainable growth.
Experts from globally renowned institutions and companies—including the International Zinc Association, American Precoat Group, ArcelorMittal, TangSteel HBIS (China), Andritz Group, Sherwin-Williams, Zeiss India, Bruker, Danieli, JSW Steel, multiple IITs, NIT Rourkela, and leading international universities—will share insights on adopting advanced technologies and sustainable practices.
GalvaNext-2026 is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping the future roadmap of India’s galvanized and color-coated steel industry, reinforcing the country’s push towards innovation-driven and environmentally responsible manufacturing.
