Seven Armed Men Attempt Tanishq Robbery in Bokaro, CCTV Probe On
Bokaro: An attempted robbery at the Tanishq jewellery showroom in City Centre, under Sector-4 police station limits, was foiled on Sunday afternoon due to the alertness of showroom staff and security guards.
Police said around seven armed miscreants, arriving on three motorcycles, entered the showroom at about 4 pm. Their plan failed after staff members grew suspicious and triggered the alarm, forcing the criminals to flee. Several customers present inside the showroom panicked on seeing the weapons.
DSP (City) Alok Ranjan said two of the accused were dressed in khaki uniforms and posed as police personnel, claiming to conduct a security audit and seeking access to CCTV systems. When employees insisted on verification with the station house officer, more accomplices attempted to enter, leading to a brief scuffle with security guards before the alarm sounded.
A customer said the armed men briefly threatened those inside before escaping as the alarm rang. Police have launched a probe and are scanning CCTV footage, while search operations have been intensified to trace the accused.
