
New Delhi: The University of Birmingham has opened applications for the India Postgraduate Chancellor’s Scholarship, offering £10,000 towards tuition fees for Indian students enrolling in full-time postgraduate Master’s programmes at its UK campus starting September 2026.
The scholarship aims to support high-achieving Indian students by reducing tuition costs and expanding access to a prestigious Russell Group education. The initiative is also designed to help graduates build globally relevant skills and gain international exposure in an increasingly competitive job market.
Commenting on the launch, Professor Mark Lee, Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor (India) at the University of Birmingham, said Indian students bring “extraordinary ambition, resilience, and curiosity” to the university’s classrooms. He noted that the India Postgraduate Chancellor’s Scholarship is intended to support their journey toward global opportunities by equipping them with skills, confidence, and international exposure to strengthen their careers.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be domiciled in India
- Hold and accept an offer for a postgraduate Master’s programme at the University of Birmingham
- Pay the required admission deposit
- Demonstrate the ability to cover living expenses and any remaining tuition fees not covered by the scholarship
The deadline to apply for the scholarship is May 31, 2026.
