Ranchi: The results of the 2026 Jharkhand Municipal Elections have been declared, reflecting a dynamic and closely fought urban political contest. Polling was held on February 23 across 48 urban local bodies — nine municipal corporations, 19 municipal councils, and 20 nagar panchayats. Around 62 percent of voters participated in the elections.

While the BJP secured an advantage in several municipal corporations, JMM-supported candidates managed to retain influence in key cities like Deoghar and Giridih. The verdict highlights a balanced yet competitive political landscape across Jharkhand’s urban centers.
