Bokaro: A wave of patriotic fervour swept Bokaro on Vijay Diwas as citizens gathered at Sector-4 to honour the legendary warrior of 1857, Veer Kunwar Singh. The ceremony also paid heartfelt tribute to martyrs Telga Kharia and Jitram Vedia, remembered for their sacrifices.
Floral wreaths, slogans, and stirring speeches marked the occasion, turning the tribute into a powerful reminder of India’s resistance legacy.
BJP leader Kumar Amit, addressing the gathering, hailed Kunwar Singh as a “blazing sun” of India’s freedom struggle. “To take on the British at the age of 80 with unmatched courage—his bravery stands unrivalled in world history,” he said, drawing applause from attendees.
Speakers also highlighted how Kunwar Singh’s fearless legacy ignited revolutionary spirit across Jharkhand. Freedom fighters like Thakur Vishwanath Shahdeo, Ganpat Rai and Sheikh Bhikhari were inspired by his example and went on to lay down their lives for the nation.
The event saw participation from members of social organisations, community leaders, and citizens, all united in saluting a legacy that continues to inspire generations.
