Kota: Libraries are rapidly shedding their traditional image as silent book repositories and emerging as dynamic, tech-driven knowledge hubs powered by AI and modern ICT tools, said Dr. Anil Kumar Jharotia, Librarian at NorthCap University during a special lecture at Jai Minesh Adivasi University.
Addressing a hybrid session hosted by the Department of Library and Information Science, Dr. Jharotia emphasised that value-added services are key to enhancing user engagement in the digital era. The lecture, themed “Strengthening User Engagement through Value-Added Library Services in the Digital Age,” highlighted how libraries are integrating advanced technologies to deliver more personalized and efficient services.
In a practical demonstration, he also conducted a virtual tour of The NorthCap University library, showcasing its digital infrastructure and innovative service models.
The event was held under the patronage of Chairman R. D. Meena and Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Shravan Kumar Meena. Proceedings were anchored by Dr. Jyotsna Verma. Faculty members, researchers, and students from multiple institutions participated actively, engaging in a lively Q&A session.
The programme saw the presence of key organizers, including Dr. Rahul Gupta, Dr. Prashant Bhardwaj, and Akshay Kumar, along with academic and non-academic staff. The session concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Convener Dr. Bhardwaj.
