Major NCR Attacks Foiled
New Delhi: In a major counter-terrorism operation, the Delhi Police Special Cell has dismantled a Pakistan-linked terror-crime syndicate and arrested seven operatives allegedly involved in planning attacks across the Delhi-NCR region.
According to police, the network was being operated at the behest of Pakistan-based gangster-turned-terrorist Shahzad Bhatti and his associate Ajmal Gujjar, with suspected links to Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the ISI.

Investigators said the module was engaged in terror activities, arms trafficking, drug smuggling and reconnaissance of potential targets. The accused allegedly surveyed crowded public places, key installations and locations associated with religious leaders, forwarding photographs and videos to handlers based in Pakistan.
Police said the syndicate smuggled weapons, ammunition and narcotics, including heroin, into India through Punjab before distributing them across Delhi-NCR. The network was reportedly in the advanced stages of planning major attacks when the operation was launched.
Officials stated that timely intelligence-led action by the Special Cell helped foil multiple terror plots aimed at creating panic, spreading fear and disturbing communal harmony.
Further investigations are underway to identify additional links and uncover the full extent of the cross-border network.
