Bokaro Press Club hosts condolence meeting as journalists, BSL officials, and district administration unite to honour his legacy

Bokaro: Journalists, senior officials of Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL), and members of the district administration gathered at the Bokaro Circuit House on Wednesday to pay heartfelt tribute to veteran journalist and Press Trust of India (PTI) district correspondent Arvind Sharma, whose untimely demise has left the media fraternity in deep mourning.

A condolence meeting, organised by the Bokaro Press Club, witnessed an outpouring of grief as speakers remembered Sharma’s remarkable contribution to journalism, describing his passing as an irreparable loss to the media landscape of Bokaro. Floral tributes were offered to his portrait, followed by a two-minute silence and prayers for the eternal peace of his soul.

‘His Life Will Inspire Every Journalist’

District Public Relations Officer (DPRO) Ravi Kumar said Arvind Sharma’s simplicity, integrity, and unwavering commitment to journalism would continue to inspire future generations of reporters. He described Sharma’s life as a shining example of dedication and professional ethics.

Paying homage, Manikant Dhan, Chief of Communications (COC) at Bokaro Steel Plant, remembered Sharma as an impartial, honest, and highly committed journalist whose calm demeanour and professional excellence earned him universal respect. Senior BSL Public Relations officials Abhinav Shankar and Ravi Kumar Sinha termed his demise a personal loss, recalling his warm personality and exemplary work ethic.

Remembered for Fearless Reporting and Gentle Nature

Speakers fondly recalled Arvind Sharma’s passion for investigative journalism, fearless reporting, and his gentle, approachable nature that won him admiration across the media fraternity.

Senior journalists, including Shashank Shekhar, Vijay Kumar Jha, Jai Sinha, Akshay Kumar, Ashis Sinha, Rajat Nath, Shashikant Sharma, Akhilesh Kumar Singh, Vinay Kumar Tiwari, and Pankaj Singh, shared emotional memories and paid glowing tributes to their colleague and friend.

The meeting was also attended by numerous journalists, prominent citizens, and officials, including Triloki Singh, Manish Singh, Hemant Kumar, Piyush Rai, Ishtiyaq Ahmed, Vijay Pandey, Dharmendra Pandey, Sujit Kumar, Sudeep Sinha, Mangalakant, and officials from the Information and Public Relations Department, including Ashutosh, Md. Salam, and Deepak.

Founding Member of Bokaro Press Club

A founding member of the Bokaro Press Club, Arvind Sharma passed away recently while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Chandrapura. He had been battling heart disease, and his condition worsened due to fluid accumulation in his lungs.

The gathering concluded with prayers for the departed soul and condolences to the bereaved family, with participants expressing hope that they find strength and courage to bear the irreparable loss.
