Bokaro: DPS Bokaro made its mark in the CBSE East Zone Swimming Championship 2019 by winning 33 record medals. The competition was held at DPS Gaya, from 20 to 24 September wherein around 60 schools across the three states, including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand were participated, informed Mritunjay Sharma, Administrator cum PRO of DPS Bokaro.
Shailey Priya bagged a gold medal in 50 meters freestyle (U-19) Girls category, whereas Pratik Kumar, Vidit Jain, Sahil Shikhar, Archisman Chowdhry, Aditya Saraf, Ila Rani, Anubhuti Jha, Priyashree Dubey, Khushi Nandan and Shailey Priya bagged silver medals, he informed.
“Sahil Shikhar, Archisman Chowdhry, Aditya Singh, Anmol Abhiman, Rounak Srivastava, Rishank Ranveer, Aveekaum Singh, Ila Rani, Anubhuti Jha, Priyashree Dubey, Khushi Nandan and Shailey Priya bagged bronze medals. The team was coached by Rupesh Kumar,” he added.
A. S. Gangwar, Principal, DPS Bokaro expressed his happiness at the outstanding performance of the students and congratulated the winners. He said that persistence can change the ordinary into extra-ordinary achievement and it is the hard work of the students and their coach that has earned them this honour.
