Bokaro is ready to tackle second wave of Covid-19

Bokaro: The district health department is fully prepared to beat the second wave of the novel coronavirus if it hits in the coming days.
Five COVID-19 Hospitals equipped with around 500 beds and other essential facilities are ready at Camp-2, Bermo, Jaridih, ANM Training Center, Sadar Hospital and Bokaro General Hospital, informed AK Pathak Civil Surgeon Bokaro.
Over 50 beds are equipped with 24X 7 Oxygen facilities at BGH, ANM Center, Jaridih and at Bermo, he said.
Centers have already been opened under the direction of the state government, but we will not allow such a situation where the number of corona patients grows in the district, said Pathak.
Expressing satisfaction over the arrangements Civil Surgeon said that following the SOP, these centers have been started; will accommodate 100 people each at Bermo, Jaridih and two units at ANM Center Camp-2 and 90 people at BGH.
Our effort will continue to curtail the spread. If there is a critical case, then we also have isolation centers at BGH, ANM Centers, Jaridih and Bermo, he said.
Meanwhile, around 20 people were tested positive on Friday while 10 recovered and discharged from COVID hospitals after they tested negative for the Sars-Cov-2 virus for the second time and sent back to their home after recovering fully, informed AK Pathak Civil Surgeon Bokaro.

The number of people who contracted the novel coronavirus infection in the district so far has crossed the 6,000-mark. According to the official released by the administration, till now around 6000 were tested COVID-19 positive, the total number of active cases rushed to 140 in the district.
“The total death toll in the district hastened to 52,” he added.
