India is ready with 2 vaccines for protection of humanity and vaccination programme: PM Modi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that our nation is ready with two vaccines for the protection of humanity and the world is not only waiting for them but also watching how the country runs the globe’s biggest vaccination programme.

PM was speaking during the inaugural eve of 16th Pravasi Bhartiya Diwas. During his address, Modi lauded India’s fight against COVID-19 and said we are among the countries with the lowest fatality rate and the highest recovery rate. He also said the way the country stood together during the pandemic was unparalleled.

“Being the pharmacy of the world, India has supplied important medicines to all those in need in the world and continues to do so”, he said.

In his dialogues with several heads of state, Modi said he got to know how the Indian community overseas has helped in the countries they live in and have provided leadership in extending assistance even in these difficult times.

“When India got Independence it was said that such a poor and under-literate country will disintegrate and democracy was impossible here”, he said, adding that India’s democracy is now “the strongest, most vibrant and lively”.
