ESL Steel awards certificates to meritorious students

RNS: ESL Steel Limited, a Vedanta Group Company and a key national steel player, organised an award ceremony to felicitate and motivate the bright pass outs of the Vedanta Skill School’s Sewing Machine Operator (SMO) course. After gaining the SMO certification, 14 out of 28 girls have secured offer letters for jobs and have been successfully placed in Tamil Nadu.

Vedanta Skill School (VSS) provides multi trade residential vocational training in Solar PV Installation and Sewing Machine Operation, which are NSDC certified courses that offer a minimum of 80 per cent placement.

The Skill School project of Vedanta imparts training to the youth through short duration vocational programs. The project equips the youth with requisite skills as per industry standards thereby engaging them in sustainable employment in the organised sector.

N.L. Vhatte, CEO, ESL Steel Limited added, “I feel proud that the learners of Vedanta Skill Schools are finally on the route to bright careers by securing jobs or becoming successful entrepreneurs. Vedanta ESL is extremely happy to have empowered them and contributed to their growth. We wish the candidates all the best for their future. ESL shall continue to work on more individuals for their growth and development. With constant support, we are sure of making our youth self-dependent and strong.”

To honour the awardees, the CSR department invited Harendra Das, Mukhiya, Alkusha, Nemchand Mahato, Ex-Sarpanch, Siyaljori, Jaidev Mahato, Up-Mukhiya, Alkusha, Tajuddin Ansari, Ward Member, Madhunia village as special guests. Sadhna Verma, Head HSE, Ashish Ranjan, Head CSR also present during the event.

Through the Vedanta Skill Schools, ESL reaches out to hundreds of youth and makes them proficient in various skills so that they can secure jobs within a short span.
