Emma Raducanu clinches Women’s Singles title

Ritesh Jha : Emma Raducanu won the US Open Women’s Singles Tennis title. Britain’s 18-year-old Emma defeated 19-year-old Lela Fernandes, her opponent, of Canada in straight sets 6-4, 6-3 in the summit clash held at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York last night.

She has become the first British woman to win the title in 53 years. Raducanu has also become the first British woman in 44 years to win a Grand Slam singles title.

Britain’s Queen Elizabeth congratulated Raducanu on her success and said it is a testament to her hard work and dedication.

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson said Raducanu showed extraordinary skill in the game.
