Court convicts RJD Chief Lalu Prasad, 74 others in Fodder Scam case

RNS: A CBI Special Court on Tuesday, found RJD Chief Lalu Prasad guilty in Fodder scam, the biggest Animal Husbandry Scam case (No. Rs 47A/96), which involved the fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 139.35 crore from the Doranda Treasury in Ranchi. A total of 96 people have been implicated in the case.

Lalu Prasad, former Chief Minister of Bihar and Union Minister, was convicted for the sixth time in the Fodder Scam case, on 21 February the quantum punishment would be announced.

CBI Special Judge S K Shashi found Lalu Prasad and 74 other defendants including Ex-MP Jagdish Sharma and ex-MLA Dr R K Rana, Dhruv Bhagat, AHD KM Prasad guilty of various charges in the case.

Prabhat Kumar who appeared on behalf of Lalu Prasad told that after the sentence is handed down, his client plans to take the case to the High Court.
