DPS Chas Launches “Vidya Ashram” Programme

RNS: DPS Chas, Bokaro in collaboration with Mentors’ Eduserv administered an inauguration of – Vidya Ashram” – a residential school with integrated coaching, an approach which is one of its kind in the East of India.

The programme held was a kind of career counselling session for students and parents of class X (session 2021 – 22 & session 2022-23) on 2nd April 2022 on campus as career decisions play a crucial role in shaping the future growth and development of the students.

The premises of the school was obliged to have the gracious presence of Reverent Chief Mentor Dr. Hemlata S. Mohan, Principal Deepali Bhuskute and the special guest Anand Jaiswal, Director, Mentors Eduserv, a renowned Physics faculty of national repute with unparalleled career record, working on higher positions in National Level Institutions at Delhi, Kota and Hyderabad.

In today’s environment of multiple options, knowing about choices available helps children in their decision-making process. Jaiswal addressed the parents and enlightened them, how a child faces ample difficulties, to establish coordination between school and preparation for engineering or medical entrance exams. The program – Vidya Ashram is a solution to this.

Jaiswal said, “It is very important for students to have sufficient time for guided self-study. In the current scenario, students are unable to get more than 2-3hr/day on self-study. With Vidya Ashram, the course has been designed to achieve more than 9hrs of self-study every day in an integrated school coaching design that enables both academic excellence as well as guides students to crack the highly competitive examinations”. Vidya Ashram will considerably reduce the financial burden on the parents as compared to the conventional schooling, coaching, and hostelling separately.

He laid emphasis on mentoring in hostel life. He guided the students to identify their interests and what they are good at. Jaiswal very meticulously put the EduBioBubble concept which promised a streamline in education even during Pandemic. The parents raised their queries and were satisfied with the judicious responses by the host.

Dr. Hemlata S. Mohan, Chief Mentor, Delhi Public School, Chas addressing the parents and students said “In this progressive world decision making plays a pivotal role in carving life and living. In the midst of diverse opportunities, parents and teachers both need to put a combined effort to help a child to meet his expectation and desire. When the education is changing, a pragmatic and new approach is necessary.

Every student needs a teacher/guide/mentor who is capable of preparing them to fight out challenges of life.  Now even the knowledge and education have changed its shape and approach so it’s necessary to have a guide that is well acquainted with such challenge and doubts.” She also emphasized the students to adopt smart work rather than hard work. She mentioned that the school’s collaboration with Mentors Eduserv will help in acquiring the best possible education at an economical cost.

In her address Deepali reiterating the importance of knowing one’s potential and subject of interest before making a decision. She also laid stress on the right combination of subjects as per their aptitude which should be reflected in their academic performance. She emphasized on the importance of making informed decisions.

The session was informative and enriching for students as well as parents well hoisted by Vivek Gupta.
