Jharkhand Science Film fest to kick-off on 14 Oct. at Bokaro

Bokaro: Jharkhand Science Film Festival (third phase) will kicks-off on 14 October at Bokaro. This two-day film festival is being organised in association with Science for Society, Bokaro Unit and Education Department, SAIL, Bokaro Steel Plant.

Over 15 films will be screened during the festival, includes documentaries, short films, and animations from Jharkhand, Bengal, Kerala, North Eastern India, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Telangana and Ladakh, informed Rajendra Kumar, General Secretary, Science for Society, Bokaro.

Akash Rajput’s film “My Life as a Snail” will be screened at the beginning of the festival. The film revolves around the life of a snail. The film has won awards at several science festivals in the country. During the first session, film “Green”, which has won several awards worldwide, will be screened. The film, directed by Patrick Rouxell, presents an emotional journey into the final days of a gorilla named Green.

The short film “Decay” will be shown in the premiere session. Aaqib Kalam, a young filmmaker from Jharkhand, was honoured to have his film shown at this year’s National Science Film Festival in Bhopal, which took place in August. The film “Decay” focuses on the problem of the exploitation of precious natural resources. Aaqib will be present during the film screening.

Besides others, students, teachers, educationists, officers and employees of Bokaro Steel Plant will participate in this program. “This Science Film Festival will develop a new mindset among the students of Bokaro and it will have far reaching impact,” added Rajendra.
