DPS Bokaro organizes workshop on National Education Policy

Bokaro : DPS Bokaro organised a workshop on NEP-2020 under the aegis of Dr. Radhakrishnan Sahodaya School Complex, Bokaro in association with Center for Educational Development (CED) Foundation affiliated to Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India.

The event was held in the M. G. Hall today. Professor C B Sharma, Former President of National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), Government of India was the Keynote Speaker on the occasion. Dr. Priyadarshi Nayak, Chairman, Sahodaya School Complex, Eastern Odisha Chapter and Founder, CED Foundation introduced the session.

Fr. Regi C. Varghese, District Training Coordinator & Principal, MGM Higher Secondary School, and Biswajit Patra, General Secretary of Sahodaya Complex & Principal, ARS Public School was present on the occasion.

The workshop commenced with the beautiful rendition of the welcome song followed by the school song. The dignitaries lighted the auspicious lamp to spread the knowledge of education. The welcome dance by the students enthralled the audience. The event witnessed the dignified presence of various Principals and delegates from different schools of the district.

Welcoming the guests A. S. Gangwar, President, Dr. Radhakrishnan Sahodaya School Complex and Principal, DPS Bokaro said that educators play a very important role and in changing the life of students and it is imperative that the objective of NEP-2020 is brought into the classrooms for the development of skill and character building of the students.

Dr. Nayak, Chairman, CED Foundation gave detailed information about the standards set by CBSE and the efforts being made at the school level towards effective pedagogy and implementation of NEP 2020.

Addressing the gathering, Professor Sharma said that the New Education Policy – 2020 has brought in a revolutionary change in the current Education System. To accelerate the progress of the country as per the demand of time, it is necessary to change the system of education in schools. 1700 years ago India was among the richest country of the world and the people were well-versed in 64 skills. NEP – 2020 has been made with the idea of reclaiming India’s position as ‘Vishwa Guru’.

He added that with the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is now working on the pre-1947 thinking wherein children can choose their career and profession in the same field after getting education. Prof. Sharma appealed to the teachers to be the ‘Leaders of Change’.

Anshul Kharbanda, Member, Academic Division, NIOS (Government of India) briefed on the key areas related to the implementation of NEP-2020. 201 participants from 21 different schools of Bokaro District participated in the program.
