DPS Bokaro Celebrates Children’s Day with Fun

Bokaro: With the objective to provide hands-on learning opportunities for the students of the Commerce section, a vibrant Fete RIVAAYAT- 2022 was organised in Delhi Public School, B.S. City. Students of Commerce Sections organised the Fete today, November 14, 2022. The gala fete was attended by students of Classes VI to XII with excitement and enthusiasm.

The fete was inaugurated by Chief Guest, Prabala Xess, District Education Officer (DEO), Bokaro. She appreciated the efforts of the students and the school for organising such an event to commemorate the special occasion of Children’s Day.

On the occasion, Principal A.S. Gangwar said, “Such events create an opportunity for students to learn managerial skills viz. time management, event management and its practical applications. The aim of the fete was to facilitate ‘learning by doing’. It also helps in developing responses in a dynamic business environment. The Commerce Department, both teachers and students have worked relentlessly for this fete and it has turned out to be a great show. Kudos to the entire team!”

After studying the Principles of Business Studies, Concepts of Accountancy and Fundamentals of Economics, the students learnt to perform the five functions of Management – Planning, Organizing, Staffing, Directing and Controlling. The knowledge gained through organising the Fete, helped students to acquire real-life experience of the concepts learnt.

Bright posters, balloons and decorations adorned the assembly arena where the fete was organised. It created a perfect carnival ambience for the students to enjoy and to have a ‘hands-on learning’ experience. Appetising food stalls were set up which included Steamed Momos, Beverages, Puddings etc were available along with a number of challenging games like Water Coin, Metal Wire etc.

A special assembly was organized in the Primary Wing to pay homage to the first Prime Minister of independent India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on his birthday. The school was adorned with balloons and each nook and corner of the school understood that each step of a child marks great achievements for the future. Teachers entertained the little ones with songs and dances. Gangwar blessed the students and stressed on the importance of a child’s role in shaping the future of the country. The celebrations concluded with fun and joy.
