New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has reaffirmed that India is on track to become the third-largest economy globally within the next two years. Speaking at the Armed Forces Flag Day CSR Conclave in New Delhi today, he highlighted that India has already achieved the milestone of becoming the fifth-largest economy in the world.
During his address, Singh stressed the vital contributions of both the public and private sectors in driving the nation’s economic growth.
He underscored the importance of self-reliance, noting that India’s economic advancement has been largely fueled by the active involvement of both sectors. Particularly, he pointed out the crucial role of the private sector in the defence industry, which is key to achieving self-sufficiency in national security.
The Defence Minister also highlighted the ongoing increase in India’s per capita income, a clear indicator of the country’s overall economic progress.
Singh also expressed his deep appreciation for the dedication of Indian soldiers, acknowledging their unwavering commitment as the “first line of defence” in safeguarding the nation’s borders.
