Nominations Begins for Padma Awards 2026

New Delhi: The nomination process for the prestigious Padma Awards 2026 has officially begun, with submissions open starting Saturday. The last date for submitting nominations is 31 July.

Nominations and recommendations for the Padma Awards can only be made online through the Rashtriya Puraskar Portal.

The Padma Awards, which include the Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri, are among India’s highest civilian honors. These awards recognize exceptional achievements in various fields, such as Art, Literature, Education, Sports, Medicine, Social Work, Science and Engineering, Public Affairs, Civil Service, and Trade and Industry.

The Padma Awards are open to all individuals, regardless of race, occupation, position, or gender. However, government employees, including those working in Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), are not eligible, with the exception of doctors and scientists.

The awards will be presented on Republic Day next year, honoring individuals for their remarkable contributions to society.
