Kanpur: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath arrived in Kanpur on Sunday to oversee the preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to the city on April 24. As part of his visit, the Chief Minister conducted an inspection of the Neyveli Power Plant and also took a ride on the Kanpur Metro.
The CM’s helicopter landed at the Neyveli Power Plant around 12:50 PM, where he spent approximately 40 minutes inspecting critical components, including the turbine and control unit. He also held a detailed review meeting with plant officials, seeking updates on operations and issuing necessary directives. According to officials, the first of the three 660-MW units at the plant has already been commissioned.
Following the plant inspection, Yogi Adityanath boarded the Kanpur Metro, showcasing confidence in the city’s rapidly developing infrastructure. His metro journey was seen as a symbolic gesture highlighting the importance of public transport in urban development.
Accompanying the Chief Minister during the visit were Uttar Pradesh Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana, Cabinet Minister Rakesh Sachan, MP Devendra Singh Bhole, Rural District President Upendra Paswan, and District Panchayat President Swapnil Varun.
